Well thank you very much . Actually this one turned out to be much better than I expected. I don't see myself as a very good realistic painter nor do I enjoy it that much normally. For me its mostly not that enjoyable because showing the real world is kind of boring because thats what you always see and with a painting you can really do something else.
This was actually a school project with the title "self-portrait with glasses" so the topic was kind of given. Although you were allowed to stretch it as much as to anything related with seeing etc. The technique and the width were also given.
At first I wanted to cut out the glasses and place something completely different behind them, but the teacher said it would be kind of not so good so I decided to go with that pipey style. Anything but the realistic thing, otherwise it would have been too boring. I appreciate it a lot that you like them because I wasn't so fond of them at first.
Oh, well if you don't enjoy it that's fine, your other artwork is still great too. The cutting out the glasses and putting something different behind them sounds interesting. Although I like the pipes, I kind of wish you'd been able to do what you were first planning.
Don't get me wrong, I definitely did enjoy this one. But I don't know if I'll do a lot like that in the future. Could be of course, but at the moment I have other things in my mind.
To be honest the point my teacher brought up was not too bad (he said if I cut out the glasses it could seem that I was a bit lazy because that area is not easy to do) and I kind of agreed with him. I can still cut them out if I decide to in the future though.
